A miniature imitation of the famous Greek Discobolus sculpture, which was originally created in the mid-400s BC. A few Roman sculptors later created copies or imitations of it, many of which now populate art museums around the world This sculpture was not crafted by an ancient Greek, but rather the Bayshore Art Studio Company, which was well known for creating miniature imitations of Classical sculptures in plaster. This Discobolus mini was created in 1964, and as a result shows a lovely patina around the figure and in the base. Bring a classic sculpture into your home with this wonderful table sculpture.
